About The Site The Royal Oak is situated in the Idyllic village of Blisworth. Centred around the great western Canal running through it, which boasts the longest tunnel on the canal system, drawing plenty of tourists to the village, both on land and on the canal itself. The village is surrounded by picturesque countryside and other beautiful villages, with Silverstone and Northampton just 10 minutes away and easily accessed by both the M1 and the M40. The Royal Oak's history goes back over 400 years. It has been used as a jail and the original jail door is still in use. The pub has survived many things including a fire in the 1950s. Recently the barn has been refurbished and is now a beautiful function room. The Royal Oak is a family-run pub, offering the personal and homely touch, including Benson the family Springer spaniel, who would like to meet new friends and old. There are vast gardens and ample parking . we offer real ales as well as standard beers and ciders. we also offer good old home cooked food, just like your mother used to make it. No frills, just food to fill you up so you leave with a full belly and a smile on your face. Facilities On Site We have opened up are gardens to allow tents, caravans and motorhomes, a place to come and pitch up in a friendly environment. At the moment we do not have a shower block, but we do have toilet and washing facilities for use, which are accessible for disabled members. A local shop offering everything you could want or need is located just across the road. The bus stop is just outside the pub for those not wishing to drive. The Pub serves hot and cold food all day with Sundays being the good old fashioned Sunday roast. Going out for the day?, speak to Angelique and she can make you up a picnic to suit your needs. if we don't have something you want, just ask and if we can get it we will. This a family run location and by joining us you become part of the family and we make sure your visit is the best we can offer. Pitches The pitches are on grass in the gardens with great views available. The grounds surround the rear of the pub, some of the pitches are on a slight incline, but not to the extent where you will roll over in your sleep. We run an open policy and allow you to choose where you pitch up. This is a working pub, so if it is a quiet spot you are looking for, I would suggest behind the Barn. When you arrive please park in the rear car park and come into the pub and ask for either Angelique (the Landlady and my Wife) or myself David and we can book you in and help you to settle in
